MISSHA The Signature Complexion Co-ordinating BB Cream White Review!

Soo I'm super excited to announce that a friend donated this to me and this post is dedicated to trying it out. Everything is my own opinion, I'm not being paid to say any of this.

Right! So! On with the review...

Product: MISSHA The Signature Complexion Co-ordinating [White] SPF 43

Claims:
1. Concept
- Pure complexion BB Cream to give skin a clear and luminous glow
Skin glowing white cream and triple layered color capsules help make a clear and luminous skin.
1. Whitening effect Arbutin, whitening ingredient, Gigawhite from 7 alpine plant extracts and Pomegranate extract express clean and radiant skin tone
2. Firming effect Matrixyl 3000 peptide and Adenosine help care the skin firmed
3. Moisturizing and radiance Instead of water, Lotus flower extract make our skin moisturized and luminous
4. Soothing effect Phytoncide and Cactus extract help coordinate clear complextion

So the concept of this BB cream is really to even out the complexion and cancel out any redness, discolouration or un-evenness in the skintone, whilst also having some sort of skincare element to it (hence the 'firming' and 'whitening' aspects). Honestly I'm not a professional and I can't comment on these aspects since I've only tried this BB cream recently, however I haven't noticed any difference in my skin after using this product for about a week, other than a slightly smoother skintone.

So the product's packaging is interesting. When you open the lid you're supposed to twist it until the desired amount of product comes out. Initially, it will come out as a white cream and when blended onto the skin, will change to 'match' your skintone. Really, I think it would suit someone with NC15-25 skin as my skin seems slightly too dark to wear this alone. I wore a powder foundation (NYX stay matte but not flat) over it to match it to my skintone.

I found that it did indeed even out my skintone however some of my acne scarring and under-eye bags were still visible after applying the product generously in those areas of my face. I found the coverage to be a lot less than other BB creams such as Skin 79's pink BB cream (Super Beblsesh balm triple function), however I think the target market for this particular BB cream would be those who want light coverage and skincare in one.

Here is a before and after photo.

As you can see, my acne scarring is pretty bad on my forehead and I have dark hereditary eyebags. What I did like about this BB cream is that it didn't feel heavy on my skin, and looked really natural, as if I wasn't wearing anything on my skin at all. It felt light and did not settle into any fine lines, which was nice. I noticed a faint floral fragrance that disappeared after about 10-ish minutes.

All in all I think this BB cream would be amazing as a base for your foundation, as it works really well as a "complexion coordinator", and seems to minimize redness and discolouration on the face. It would work well for you if you have a lighter skintone, however I wouldn't recommend this to wear alone if you are like me and have scarring or dark under-eye circles.

Blush Swatches!

I've never been a huge blush person until I got MAC's Mineralise Skinfinish in Scene to be Scene for my birthday last year.. since then I've collected 6 more blushes. Woops! Here are some simple swatches for you all :)

Korres Zea Mays blush in Peach. Very natural and blendable blush, looks sooo natural and I'd say suitable for all skintones. This is my go-to everyday blush when I want a no-makeup makeup look.

Smashbox Halo Blush in Peachy Keen. A matte and extremely pigmented blush, looks very flattering on my NC35 skintone (applied with a light hand!), or if used lightly can look like a natural flush on lighter skintones.

MAC Mineralise Skinfinish in Scene to be Scene. My first ever official blush. There are 2 seperate areas inside the blush with different pigments. The blush on the inside is a shimmery baby pink with subtle golden sparkles, whilst the colour on the outside is a frosted lilac with a slight duochrome finish. The lilac I am still figuring out how to wear, as since it's frost finish it's harder to pull off in everyday looks.

theBalm Instain blush in Pinstripe. oh. my. god. this is my absolute favourite blush. Yes it is purple! however don't be daunted - it actually does not apply heavily and gives a unique but wearable effect. I used it in my Ethereal look to create a heavenly glow on the cheeks.

E.L.F studio blush in Twinkle Pink. I really like how subtle the colour is on this blush. It gives a nice touch of shimmer and colour to the cheeks. Unfortunately the staying power is terrible, and lasts about 2-3 hours for me before fading.

theBalm blush in Hot Mama. A very interesting peachy-pink blush with golden shimmer. I've been told it's a more subtle dupe of Nars Orgasm, so without all the glitter explosion. Hmm.. You decide for yourself :P I've pulled an image from google (Pride & Mascara blog) to compare!

thebalm Hot Mama
Nars Orgasm
Milani baked blush in Luminoso. All the hype behind this blush I find very valid. It's a peachy-golden blush with subtle shimmer, not sparkle. I can see how it would look very flattering on all skintones.

Everyday Matte Makeup Look

I have a tutorial for those 1 or 2 of you that may be reading this, lol. This is just an everyday, fresh, simple glowy look that takes me about 20-30 min. If you wanted to make it less dramatic, use brown liner on the waterline or no liner at all for a wide-eyed look. :) Hope you enjoy!

So this is my makeup station! I know it's a bit messy, and I feel like I have a wee too many products :P I think I have a problem..

So what you want to do is start off with a fresh face. I've moisturized, dusted with E.L.F HD powder and then concealed in this photo. (I'm using the Wayne Goss foundation application technique - this gives you an AMAZING finish to your foundation. Try it - your foundation will go on a lot less patchy and the staying power is amazing.)

Next, layer on your foundation. I'm using L'Oreal True Match in W4, using my Real Techniques Stippling brush and just stippling the foundation onto the skin. This will help fill in any large pores and create a smoother finish.

Done! You may need to conceal more after this step, however I prefer concealing beforehand.

Now I've filled in my brows and used Essence brow gel to fix them in place - sorry I didn't include photos!
Prime the eyes. I've used E.L.F sheer mineral primer and just patted that all over my lid area. Then I've just patted NYX milk as a base all over my lids.

Now taking a light matte blush shadow, pat it all over the center of your lid. I'm using Urban Decay Naked 3's Limit and Good Karma brush.

Once you've done that, Take a darker matte blush/beige shadow, apply it on the outer corner (the outer third) of your eyelids. Here I'm using Urban Decay Naked 3's Nooner. Don't go any further than the outer third, as you want to achieve a gradient effect. Also don't worry about blending for now, we'll get to that later.

Next, take a matte white shadow and apply is just under the browbone to highlight the brows. I'm using UD Naked 3's Strange.

Finally, take a skin-toned matte shadow and use it to blend the shadows outwards toward the brow-highlight you just created. Be careful you don't blend too high! you want to keep it just under the highlight. I'm taking the light cool matte brown from ChiChi's Natural's Palette. Blend blend blend! Use a wind-screen wiper motion to blend out the harsh edges from your shadow. Don't blend too close to the eyelid or the colours will end up looking muddy. This does take patience and time, so don't be disappointed if you can't get it right the first time - heck, even I don't get it perfect most of the time!

So now that you've blended out your eyeshadow, you want to add liquid liner and create a wing. If you want a less dramatic look, use a pencil or kohl eyeliner and smudge it along the lashline, focusing on the outer third and applying less in the inner corner.

Add highlighter to the bridge of your nose and cheekbones. I've used thebalm's Mary Loumanizer. Add blush just under your highlighter as shown. I've used thebalm's Bahama Mama to give a nice golden-peachy glow. I've also added a tiny bit of bronzer (TheBodyShop Honey bronzer in 030 down the sides of my nose to slim it down, and just under my blush. It's all a layering process.

Apply a nude lipstick.

And you're done! Hopefully you enjoyed viewing this tutorial as much as I enjoyed making it. If you've got any questions, just ask me in the comments. Thanks for viewing :)
